Balancing the environmental and the cultural

Summary of contracted works: Rhizome was engaged to develop the Hornsby Shire Council's Biodiversity Conservation Plan. This endeavour was underpinned by an exploration of a new 'Green Infrastructure Framework' for the whole Shire and included both operational, as well as more than 40 specific future-thinking recommendations for location-specific biodiversity management. The process was driven by a series of unique interactive community and stakeholder design 'charrette' workshops where more than 80 stakeholders engaged with and shared ideas and knowledge through a variety of interactive mapping activities related to the Hornsby area and natural environment.
